Ease

This skirt is probably one of the most worn articles of clothing in my closet. Dressed up, dressed down, cold weather, warm weather. I feel like there is some sort of merit in buying pieces that you can wear time and time again, that never feel old or exhausted.

Faux

I've been seeing a lot of drop-waist silhouettes around the internet world lately, and my inner flapper is cartwheeling with joy. Unfortunately, most of my drop waist style clothing is either a little too costumey or dressy for everyday wear. Instead I decided to create a faux drop waist dress by layering a light sweater and skirt with similar drape. And a looong necklace to tie is some subtle flapperism.

Waist High

This summer I fell in love with high-waisted shorts. With my unbreakable habit of belting skirts at my natural waist, it was a pretty obvious progression. And now that it's fall, I am enjoying the challenge of transitioning my favorite summer shorts.

Simple hem

Thrift store shopping can be a pretty trying experience, wading through racks and piles of outdated, polyester clothing in hopes of finding something great. It takes persistence and creativity, which honestly I don't always have the patience for. But items like this skirt are reminder that it's worth it.
