After several days of comfy, slouchy clothes suited to cross-country road trips and to carrying heavy objects up 3 flights of stairs, it felt really nice to get dressed up the other day. Going through that morning ritual helped make my new apartment feel a little bit more like home. Every new place has an adjustment period, and it hasn't quite sunk in that I live in Brooklyn now. Soon I'll be feeling like a local, so I might as well enjoy looking at my new home through the lens of a visitor.

I know this white-walled corner is a super exciting backdrop, but hey it's warmer inside and I still need to take some walks to scout out new picture-taking opportunities. So stay tuned for more insights into my NYC life (especially once we get our internet installed).

Pride

Now that my hair has grown out quite a bit, I am trying to be more creative with how I style it, especially ways to wear it up and away from my face. Unfortunately after years of short hair, my clumsy fingers need a little help and a lot of practice. But this morning! I stumbled into a twist bun thing! And felt fancy all day long.

I should probably call this blog "Christine climbs on things" instead. Because really it's so much fun. You might notice that my glasses are different. That is because on Tuesday my home try on from Warby Parker came!! So I am walking around with fake new glasses to see how I like them, and so far these are my favorite, Finn in Sandlewood Matte. Mostly because they are pretty and flatter my very narrow face

Yes, it is quite a few days after Christmas, but here it is anyway, my outfit of that day. Even though our Christmases are really low key, I wanted to commemorate the holiday with some glitz. Barefoot with a sparkly sequin skirt. To be both comfortable and glamourous is the best combination.

Sometimes I get the urge to dress all ladylike and prance about in fields.

Supercute

This look feels very weird on me today. Lately I have been finding myself less enthused by these very cute/bright/girly ensembles. I don't know if it's the cooler weather dimming down moods and colors or the somber graduation from school to "adult life" or just a natural shift in my sense of style. Either way, times they are a-changing.

Chunky knits and florals in warm jewel tones feel like a perfect fall combination.
